Questions About Events

  • Our in-house AV partner, The 3M Company, provides AV services. Standard AV setups include a projector, screen, and audio. Additional AV requests are available based on the needs of your event.

  • Outside catering is allowed. The facility does not have a commercial kitchen on-site; therefore, caterers must be self-contained.

    The KBC Houston's open catering policy allows food service to be provided by any caterer licensed by the State of Texas. The KBC Houston events office must have a copy of the caterer's city health permit and certificate of liability insurance on file seven days prior to the event.

    The client is fully responsible for all arrangements, and any contract entered into with any caterer of the event. The catering contract must include adequate clean-up immediately following the event.

  • All decorations and signage must be freestanding or affixed with blue painter's tape. No nails, tacks, or staples may be used to attach anything to a facility structure or wall. All affixed decorations must be pre-approved by The KBC Houston Events Department.

    The following decorations are specifically prohibited at The KBC Houston—confetti (static and cannons), glitter, stickers, spray paint, liquid paint, burning objects, helium balloons, rice, and streamers or poppers.

    Bubbles may be used outside of the facility only. Air balloons (not helium) are allowed in approved areas and are not permitted to be released outdoors on The KBC Houston grounds.

    No candles with open flames are permitted on-site except for a Unity Candle used in a wedding ceremony. Only battery-operated or dripless candles are permitted.

  • Yes, The KBC Houston offers free Wi-Fi for all on-site events.

  • The KBC provides 85" X 85" ivory house linen for round tables and black spandex house linen for 6' tables. We do not provide serve ware or glassware. These items can be sourced from your caterer or an outside vendor.

  • The KBC Houston has a full-service setup team who will set up the tables and chairs for your event based on approved specifications and logistic details.

  • The KBC Houston currently has a no-alcohol policy.

  • A uniformed officer is required per 250 people. Security needs will be evaluated for each event. The KBC Houston reserves the right to increase or decrease security as needed. The KBC Houston works directly with a security team familiar with the facility. Your quote will include an estimate for any security costs associated with your event.

  • A medical professional is required to be on-site for events with 750 people or more. An estimate will be included in your quote.

  • The use of small appliances is not permitted on-site without prior approval from The KBC Houston. This includes, but is not limited to coffee pots, irons, crockpots, and waffle makers.

  • Due to liability concerns, the client and/or caterer must provide adequate staff for set up, event operation, and breakdown. The KBC Houston staff is not permitted to set up or break down equipment or furniture for the event except for facility-owned tables and chairs.

  • All setup details and room diagrams must be finalized seven business days prior to the event. An additional setup fee will be assessed for changes made within seven business days of the event.

  • The KBC Houston Events Department will have an on-site Events Host(ess) available during the hours of the event. This attendant is responsible for the event site and is not available for serving, decorating, or other services requested by the client, attendees, and/or vendors. Additionally, the KBC Houston has walkie-talkies available for on-site communication with The KBC Houston staff.

  • Yes, The KBC Houston does not have an ice machine or public freezer. However, there are several convenience stores nearby where ice can be purchased. Please remember to bring a cooler for ice storage.

Questions About The Venue

  • The KBC Houston has 1100 paved parking spaces available at no charge for self-park. Events with over 750 people will require a parking management team to ensure cars are parked efficiently. Events may also arrange valet services. Parking management services and valet are available for an additional fee.

  • The KBC Houston has a limited number of dollys available on a first-come, first-served basis for load-in/load-out. Some dollys are only for use on the first floor and do not fit inside the elevators. Additionally, the venue does not provide ladders or extension cords.

  • We do not have a shipping and receiving department at The KBC Houston. If you are a vendor or exhibitor, please get in touch with your event host for shipping and receiving options.

  • The KBC Houston provides tables, chairs, and house linen at no additional cost. We have a limited inventory of the following sizes:

    • 72" round tables

    • 30” x 6’ rectangular tables

    • 30" x 8' rectangular

    • 30" X 4' classroom tables

    • Padded banquet chairs

    • Flexible plastic chairs

  • The KBC Houston events office is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

  • The KBC Houston hosts events throughout the week at various hours of the day. Out of respect for our clients, we do not allow tours during an event. Please click here to schedule a tour.

  • The KBC Houston allows bookings between 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Requests for events outside these hours are reviewed case by case and may incur additional charges.

  • The KBC Houston does not have a loading dock, but there is a loading area located on the south side of the building. This is the preferred parking lot and entrance for all trucks, buses, deliveries, staff and volunteers.

  • The KBC Houston does not have a public refrigerator or microwave on-site.

  • Yes, The KBC Houston has a dedicated room for nursing and pumping inside our First Aid space. Unfortunately, the KBC Houston does not have a refrigerator for storage, so attendees will need to bring a storage solution.

  • The average temperature of The KBC Houston is approximately 69 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, attendees are encouraged to dress in layers and bring a sweater or jacket to regulate personal temperature preferences. Unfortunately, the facility will be unable to accommodate temperature adjustment requests.
